Owner, Ashleigh Jauken, operates the facility mostly by herself but now has two young sons in tow.
You'll probably see either Kaleb, Kolby, or both as she works. She has always loved all animals and has experience with many pets throughout her life. She went to Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture and studied to become a vet tech. Although she didn't quite make it to a licensed vet tech, she still did graduate with a Degree of Applied Animal Science.
Ashleigh came up with the name Little Village Pet Lodge by the facility's location. It's located just north of Funk, Nebraska, which is officially called The Village of Funk. "I thought it would be fun to call my business little village because of its location near Funk. Plus, there is hopefully going to be many different animals staying there, like a village would, so why not little village?" Ashleigh says. The Lodge part of the name also comes from where the property is located. "When you think Lodge, you usually think of a place out in the country and my little pet village is out in the country so it made perfect sense to say lodge at the end instead of boarding. And that's how Little Village Pet Lodge was named!"
